ZATI's History
Zentrix Africa Technology Institute (ZATI) was founded in 2023 by Sserunkuuma Ibrahim, a software engineer and entrepreneur with a vision to revolutionize tech education across Africa. The journey began when Ibrahim hired a team of 20 fresh graduates from Uganda, Kenya, and Nigeria for his company, Zentrix Innovative Labs Limited. Despite their academic qualifications, the team struggled with practical, hands-on skills, revealing a critical flaw in Africa's education system students were leaving institutions with only theoretical knowledge and lacking real-world experience.
The Founding of ZATI
This experience nearly led to the collapse of the company, highlighting a widespread issue across the continent. Motivated to solve this problem, Ibrahim created ZATI to bridge the tech skills gap in Africa by offering affordable, practical, and accessible online education. Since its founding, ZATI has grown rapidly, providing quality education for both students and professionals, empowering them with the skills needed to succeed in the ever-evolving tech industry.
With intakes beginning in 2024, ZATI started by offering scholarships to over 1,500 students in its first few months and has since expanded to reach thousands more across Africa. Today, ZATI remains committed to fostering innovation, promoting inclusivity, and supporting Africa’s future workforce by transforming the education landscape.
