In an era where technology continues to shape industries and drive innovation, the need for skilled professionals has never been greater. At Zentrix Africa Technology Institute, in partnership with Qollix, we are committed to bridging the gender gap in technology by providing opportunities for women to learn, grow, and excel in the digital space.

As part of our mission, we launched the Women in Tech Scholarship for the Certified UI/UX Product Designer program, a fully funded initiative designed to equip women with hands-on skills in user interface and user experience (UI/UX) design. After receiving an overwhelming number of applications, we are thrilled to announce that 65 outstanding women have been selected to participate in this life-changing program!

The Selection Process: A Tough but Rewarding Journey

Selecting the final candidates was no easy task. We received an incredible number of applications from passionate, talented women eager to break into the world of tech. Each applicant had a unique story, showcasing determination, resilience, and the drive to succeed.

Due to the overwhelming demand and the inspiring stories we encountered, we had to increase the number of slots from our original plan to 65. This decision was driven by our commitment to inclusivity and ensuring that more women get the opportunity to develop industry-relevant skills. The selection process was rigorous, focusing on applicants who demonstrated a strong willingness to learn, a passion for UI/UX design, and a genuine need for this scholarship to transform their careers.

What the Scholars Will Gain

The selected women will embark on an intensive two-month training program that combines theory with hands-on practice. This program is carefully designed to ensure that participants not only learn UI/UX principles but also apply them through real-world projects. The scholarship covers:

• Comprehensive UI/UX Training – A structured curriculum covering design principles, wireframing, prototyping, usability testing, and industry-standard tools like Figma and Adobe XD.
• Hands-on Projects – Scholars will build real-world projects that showcase their skills and prepare them for the job market.
• One-on-One Mentorship – Learning from experienced professionals in the field who will provide guidance and career advice.
• Internship Opportunities – After the training, participants will gain one month of internship experience, giving them practical exposure to real UI/UX design projects.
• Networking & Career Support – The opportunity to connect with fellow tech enthusiasts, industry professionals, and potential employers.

Orientation Day and Next Steps

The program officially kicks off on Monday, March 17, 2025, with an Orientation Session where scholars will be introduced to the curriculum, their mentors, and what to expect throughout the course.

We understand that many talented women applied for this scholarship, but unfortunately, we had limited slots. To those who were not selected, we strongly encourage you to keep pushing forward. This decision is in no way a reflection of your potential.
